SEX SURVEY: Thais have more fun in bed
Thais are the world's most jovial lovers, according to a sex survey conducted by condom-maker Durex, but they are much more concerned with quality than quantity. Over 92 per cent of Thai respondents said they were happy with their sex lives, higher than the global average of 73 per cent, the Durex Global Sex Survey 2003 found. But the average frequency of sex among Thais dropped to 105 times a year, from 112 times last year, well below the global average of 127 times a year. The Internet survey polled 2,631 Thai men and 1,224 Thai women and over 150,000 adult respondents from 49 countries, aged between 16 and 55. Thai respondents also preferred their batch of sexy actors and politicians, according to another survey by the condom manufacturer. Over 65 per cent went for Democrat deputy leader Abhisit Vejjajiva and Chat Thai MP Janista Liewchalermwong. Movie star Jessadaporn "Tik" Pholdee got 39 per cent. Television star Patcharapa "Um" Chaiyacheau got 19 per cent, defeating last year's sexiest woman, Shermarn "Ploy" Bunyasak, who got 3 per cent. Globally, men comprised almost two-thirds of the respondents. Just below Thailand in the sexual frequency poll were Vietnam (104), Hong Kong (103), Sweden (102), Malaysia (100), and Singapore (96). Lovers in Vietnam were just behind Thailand on the happy-sex list, with 90 per cent. Fifty-four per cent of Thai, American and British respondents said they had one-night-stands, while the global average was 45 per cent. The survey found that almost three-tenths of global respondents preferred partner-on-top and rear-entry as their favourite sexual positions. The least favoured position was standing up.
