Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund

Applications Now Available Online

APIASF plans to award over $300,000 in scholarships

Completed Applications Due on Feb. 15, 2005

SAN FRANCISCO- APIASF is a new national organization devoted solely to the financial scholarship needs of Asian and Pacific Islander American students. The organization is chaired by former congressman Robert Underwood from Guam along with an impressive board consisting of senior officers from Fortune 500 companies.

APIASF has been successful in attracting support from corporate American in the early years. Major organizations like McDonald's corporation, The Coca-Cola Company, Asian McDonald's Owner/Operators Association, AT&T Foundation, Washington Mutual Bank, Wells Fargo & Company, Wal-Mart Stores, Hilton Hotels Foundation, General Mills Foundation, Southern California Edison, IW group, Asian Pacific American Institute for congressional Studies, Organization of Chinese Americans, Southeast Asian Resource Action Center, the University of Hawaii - Native Hawaiian Community-Based Education Learning Centers and others.

In fact, APIASF has also received support from Hispanic Scholarship Fund and United Negro College Fund for their continued efforts in educating young Americans.

Scholarship applications for college-bound students of Asian and Pacific Islander American descent are now available online at www.apiasf.org. Students who plan to enter into the freshman class of an accredited college, university or vocational institution in the fall are encouraged to apply. Eligibility requirements are available online.

APIASF plans to award more than 100 scholarships in May. Each scholarship will be $2,000.
